How It Works
The test plays a tone that starts at 20 Hz and sweeps up to 20,000 Hz over 60 seconds. When you can no longer hear the tone, tap "I can't hear it" — that's your hearing limit.
Typical Results by Age
- Under 25: 17,000 – 20,000 Hz
- 25–35: 15,000 – 17,000 Hz
- 35–50: 12,000 – 15,000 Hz
- Over 50: 8,000 – 12,000 Hz
⚠️ This is not a medical test. For accurate hearing assessment, consult an audiologist.
FAQ
Should I use headphones?
Yes, headphones give much more accurate results than phone/laptop speakers, which can't reproduce the full frequency range.
Why can't I hear above 15 kHz?
Hearing naturally degrades with age, especially at high frequencies. This is completely normal. Exposure to loud music or noise accelerates this.
